LeaderLens is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our platform. By using LeaderLens, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
What Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create a LeaderLens account, we collect your email address, a username (if chosen), and a securely hashed password. We do not collect your real name or any government-issued identification.
Rating Submissions
Our platform is built on structured leadership ratings. When you submit a rating, we store the trait selections, scores, and any optional structured feedback you provide. All ratings are stored with your internal user ID so we can prevent duplicate submissions and maintain data integrity.
Usage Data
We collect anonymized analytics about how you interact with the platform — such as pages visited, search queries (not tied to your identity), feature usage, and device/browser type. This helps us improve the product experience.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment details are handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment processor (Stripe). LeaderLens never stores your full credit card number, CVV, or billing address on our servers.
How Emails Are Used
Authentication
Your email address is used to verify your account, authenticate logins, and send password reset links when requested. Email verification is required before full platform access.
Transactional Messages
We send essential transactional emails including subscription confirmations, payment receipts, account security alerts, and moderation notices if one of your submissions requires review.
Optional Communications
With your explicit consent, we may send product updates, new feature announcements, and platform insights. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time from your account settings or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
No Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with advertisers, marketers, or unrelated third parties.
Payment Handling
PCI-Compliant Processing
All payment transactions are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider. Your sensitive card data never touches LeaderLens servers.
Subscription Management
Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually depending on your plan). You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade your subscription at any time from your account dashboard.
Refunds
Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. For annual subscriptions, prorated refunds may be available within 30 days of purchase. Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable once the billing period has begun.
Cookies & Tracking
Essential Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain your session, remember your login state, and keep the application secure. These cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.
Analytics Cookies
We use anonymized analytics tools (such as privacy-focused analytics or aggregated event tracking) to understand feature usage and identify improvements. This data is not used to personally identify you.
Third-Party Trackers
LeaderLens does not embed third-party advertising trackers, social media pixels, or retargeting scripts. We do not build advertising profiles based on your behavior on our platform.
Your Control
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent login and core functionality from working properly.
How Ratings Are Stored
Data Structure
Ratings are stored in our secure database with a link to your internal user ID (for integrity and fraud prevention) but are displayed publicly without identifying you. Your name is never shown on published ratings.
Retention
Ratings remain stored for as long as the rated leader profile exists or until you delete your account. Upon account deletion, your user ID is disassociated from ratings, which may then be retained as fully anonymized aggregate data.
Data Security
All stored data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. Database access is restricted and protected by Row-Level Security policies. Communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted via TLS 1.3.
Your Rights
Access & Portability
You have the right to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. We can provide this in a machine-readable format within 30 days of your request.
Correction
If any personal information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request that we correct or update it through your account settings or by contacting support.
Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. Upon deletion, your account will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Objection & Restriction
You may object to certain types of data processing (such as analytics) or request that we restrict processing in specific circumstances. We will honor these requests in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
